Fins and Feathers

Today we went to pick up my race packet for the City to Surf 14K.  I got my race number, timing chip, and bought a t-shirt.
We sat in Hyde Park for a bit and saw this bird:
It's an Australian White Ibis.  We started walking towards Darling Harbor to go to the Fish Market for lunch.  Along the way we saw these birds:
These birds are Rainbow Lorikeets.  There were probably fifteen of them lined up along someone's balcony making all sorts of noise.

We got to the Fish Market and were amazed at all of the different seafood for sale.  We got a delicious lunch of beer battered fish and chips and a seafood platter that included Oysters Mornay and Kilpatrick, calamari rings, grilled scallop, battered king prawns, and BBQ octopus.  The Sydney Fish market is the 2nd biggest fish market in the world after the one in Tokyo.

We saw one last interesting bird in the water near the Fish Market:
This is an Australian Pelican.  Another great day in Sydney.  The jet lag has been a little harder to get over than we orginally thought though.  We have been having some trouble sleeping at night and then have been waking up very early in the morning.  We avoided taking a nap today and are hoping for a good night of sleep tonight.
