Melbourne's Charms

Friday was our last full day in Melbourne.  I went for a run and we had breakfast at a great little cafe near the hotel.  We walked back over to the Botanic Gardens and got on the free tour bus.  This is a great service Melbourne offers.  The bus takes you to thirteen different stops around Melbourne and you can hop on or off at any of the stops.  There is also commentary provided.  It was really fun to see Melbourne this way.  We got to see lots of different neighborhoods and realized we had been missing out by just sticking to the central business district for meals.

We got off at the Queen Victoria Market stop.  This is a huge outdoor market with tons of booths with shoes, souvenirs, wood products, Aboriginal art, and a huge area dedicated to fresh produce.  I wish this was nearby because I would buy all of my produce here.  We walked around and had a fresh fruit smoothie before getting on the free tram over to the Docklands area.  We shopped some more and had pizza and ice cream along the water.
We went back to the hotel, ordered room service for dinner later and watched-you guessed it, more tennis.:)
