We visited another country today, the Hutt River Principality! The Principality was founded by Prince Leonard in 1970 after seceding from the Commonwealth of Australia. While Australia will not officially recognize the Principality, they do not have to pay taxes to the Australian Taxation Office.
We met the Prince and he was kind enough to stamp our passports and give us a brief tour of the Principality. He showed us documents recognizing the Principality's status, the art gallery, his commemorative Rolls Royce, and documentation of the star named after Prince Leonard. What a quirky place!
