Our last two days on Kangaroo Island we stayed at a caravan park in Penneshaw. This park was not a good one. We plan to post a caravan park ranking sometime soon. We also had a rough night getting bitten by mosquitoes! We did go on a nice walk in American River nearby though. It was a well marked hour and a half long hike through bush along the water. It ended at the ruins of a fish cannery from the 1890s. The most interesting part was seeing the oyster leases where oysters are feeding below.
We stopped at The Oyster Farm Shop for a little snack on the way back. We shared a dozen of the chili and cheese oysters. It was a seafood heavy day because we also had fish and chips or prawns and chips in Ben's case at Fish, a highly regarded restaurant in Penneshaw. I had the KI King George Whiting. It was a tiny piece of fish but quite delicious. Next up the Barossa Valley.
